In these terms, "PASHAN", "the firm", "we" and "us" mean PASHAN Attorneys at Law & Legal Consultancy, and "you" means any person who visits the website or uses the client portal.
2. Acceptance and changes
By accessing the website or signing in to the client portal you agree to these terms. If you do not agree, please do not use them. We may update these terms from time to time. The date of the latest version is shown at the top of this page, and the version in force when you use the website applies.
3. Information, not legal advice
The content of this website is general information about the firm and the areas in which it practises. It is not legal advice and must not be relied on as such. The law changes, and it differs between the Kurdistan Region of Iraq, federal Iraq, the United Arab Emirates, England and Wales and other jurisdictions. Advice on your circumstances is given only under a signed engagement with the firm.
Reading this website, sending us an email, calling us or submitting the contact form does not create a lawyer-client relationship. We accept an instruction only after a conflict check and a written confirmation that we can act. Until then, please do not send us confidential information.
4. Use of the website
You may use the website for lawful purposes only. You must not:
- interfere with its operation or security, probe or test its vulnerabilities, or attempt to gain access to any part of it that is not intended for you;
- use automated tools to copy or extract its content, other than ordinary search engine indexing;

5. The client portal
Access to the client portal is given by the firm to its clients. Your sign-in details are personal to you. Keep them confidential, do not share them, and tell us at once if you believe someone else has used them. You are responsible for everything done through your account until you have told us otherwise.
Information and documents you provide through the portal, including the details of persons you include in a visa or residence application, must be accurate and complete. By including another person you confirm that you have their authority to do so and to receive communications about their application. We may suspend or withdraw access where we believe the portal is being misused or where it is necessary to protect the firm, its clients or others.
6. Engagements
Our services are provided only under an engagement agreed in writing. The terms of that engagement, including its scope, fees and limitations, prevail over these terms in relation to the services. Fees quoted in the portal become payable only once you ask us to proceed, as set out in the relevant engagement.
7. Intellectual property
The website, its design, text, images, the PASHAN name, emblem and logo, and the materials available through the portal belong to the firm or its licensors. You may view and print pages for your own use and for the purposes of your dealings with the firm. Any other reproduction, distribution or use requires our prior written consent.
8. Third-party websites and services
The website and the portal may link to third-party websites and services, including government portals, banks and screening providers. We do not control them and are not responsible for their content, availability or privacy practices. Their own terms apply to your use of them.
9. Communications
We communicate by email, telephone, WhatsApp and through the portal, using the details you have given us. Email and messaging services are not guaranteed to be secure or free from interception, delay or error. If you prefer a particular channel for sensitive matters, tell us and we will arrange it.
10. Availability and accuracy
We aim to keep the website and the portal available and accurate, but we provide them "as is" and "as available". We do not promise that they will be uninterrupted, error-free or free from harmful components, or that the content will be complete or up to date at any particular time.
11. Limitation of liability
To the fullest extent permitted by law, the firm is not liable for any loss or damage arising from the use of, or reliance on, this website or its content, or from any inability to use the website or the portal. Nothing in these terms limits or excludes any liability that cannot be limited or excluded under applicable law, and nothing in these terms affects the terms of a signed engagement with the firm.

Our Privacy Policy explains how we handle personal data collected through the website, the portal and our work for clients. It forms part of these terms.
13. Governing law and jurisdiction
These terms are governed by the laws of the Kurdistan Region of Iraq and, where applicable, the federal laws of Iraq. The courts of Erbil have jurisdiction over any dispute arising from them, without prejudice to our right to seek relief in any other competent court.
14. General
If any part of these terms is found to be invalid, the rest continues to apply. Our not enforcing a term is not a waiver of it. These terms are written in English; if a translation differs from the English text, the English text prevails.
